In response to a question in the Rajya Sabha, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has listed out the steps taken by the government to promote the use of electric vehicles in the country.

Why are mainstream car manufacturers taking so long to create a high-end electric car rival?

Most aspects of an electric car are relatively simple to construct. Regenerative braking, the electric motors and most of the assembly is stuff your average car maker can do blindfolded. Most parts of an electric car are simple to construct. What isn’t simple is everything to do with the battery pack. That’s the hard part of making an electric car and where every other car maker is at a disadvantage.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.

Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Under this Scheme, Training and Assessment fees are completely paid by the Government.
